With audiences being exposed to strong digital content on OTT platforms, there is little tolerance for films that have illogical flaws. When a protagonist breaks every possible law to prove a point about the problematic education system, you can't help but wonder if it was worth taking up over two hours of your time.
Education mafia is very much prevalent in our country but very few films have tried to showcase the topic. Akshara belongs to that rare category. The core plot is very good and gives a strong message to the public. The director was successful in conveying the message but the screenplay could have been handled in a better way. The scenes seem to be routine and deviate us midway through the film. Apart from that, there are no major flaws in the movie. On the whole, Akshara is a sincere attempt and can be watched once.
Akshara was promoted as a relevant film with a strong social message but the film does not have what it takes to elevate the core point or keep the audience engaged. Outdated screenplay and poorly written comedy scenes act against the cause. The director tries to go explore a good point but has no clue of how to pen a good plot around it.
